Qurated are looking for a commercially minded, process-driven and strategic Financial Controller to lead and build our finance function across the UK and US. You’ll lead all financial operations, drive strategic analysis and commercial insights to support decision making and business growth. Working closely with our co-founders, this is a hands-on and high-impact role in a fast-growing business. Initially, you’ll work with our external accountants and our internal Business Support Associate, with the autonomy and resources to grow your own team quickly. Key Responsibilities
Financial oversight & reporting
- Own end-to-end finance function, including management accounts, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Produce and analyse monthly accounts, annual accounts, and financial reports for senior leadership.
- Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and short- and long-term cash flow planning, ensuring financial stability and supporting business expansion.
- Ensure balance sheet integrity with strong reconciliations and cost base management.
- Oversight of AP/AR, VAT, payroll, and compliance - supported by external accountants and our Business Support Associate for the execution of.
- Build and implement internal systems, processes, and controls to reduce reliance on external support.
Commercial & strategic finance
- Provide financial modelling, scenario planning, and decision support as the business scales internationally.
- Work closely with senior leadership on growth strategies, investment planning, and cost optimisation.
- Partner with leadership on business case development and long-term planning.
- Own financial data analysis, providing commercial insights and data-driven recommendations to drive performance, profitability, and operational improvements.
- Develop efficient, scalable processes and automation to support a high-growth environment.
International finance & compliance
- Oversee US operations, working with accounts and payroll providers as we expand.
- Ensure compliance with UK and US financial regulations, including IR35, intermediary reporting, and local employment laws.
- Support the development of legal entity structures and operating models as the business scales internationally.
- Manage US insurance, payroll compliance, and tax considerations for employees.
Ideal Person.
- Fully qualified with at least 5+ years PQE with experience working in a similar revenue, high-growth environment is essential.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and modelling for commercial decision making.
- Able to own the day-to-day finance function while delivering commercial insight and strategic impact.
- Background in professional services, consultancy, or agency environments - with exposure to best practices in high-growth businesses.
- Organised, process-driven, and adaptable - able to manage and delegate in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfortable with data and analytics - extracting insights and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with external accountants and operational teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence and challenge at a senior level.
- International experience (particularly US) is a plus.
